    Emcee Composition, better known as just Composition or Comp to some, was born in Bronx, NY and raised in Newark, NJ. Living in NJ for most of his life with no doubt reflects in his rhymes and technique. Growing up listening to Nas, The Fugee's, Outkast, The Roots, Kool G Rap, and Goodie Mob made his taste extremely fined tuned as far as hip hop is concerned. With a firm belief that hip hop should be about inspiring the masses and evolution of the genre, it's no wonder Composition has worked with the lyrical artists such as Elzhi and Joelle Ortiz. Most recently, Emcee Composition has taken the sound of hip hop to new levels as far as content and music structure. Combining an unseen mixture of classical and hip hop (called Dirty Classical), along with a deep context and wordplay focused delivery has resulted in a very dangerous combination. His debut album "Garden Statements", releases June 21, 2011, has made an undeniable impact among names not known for working with unknown artists. Now Comp has connected with producer Kno of Cunninlynguists, who is rarely known for working on projects outside of his camp. It's obvious that he has talented artists attention, and once you hear his music it's obvious it's for a very good reason. In a time where the goal of a hip hop artist of an artist is to party hard, Comp's goal is making hairs stand on you're arm from amazement hip hop like his exists. If you enjoy artists who care more for their legacy than the money being made then you need to immediately get up on Emcee Composition.

About Me

Emcee Composition (better known as Comp or Composition) is a hip hop artist coming from Newark, NJ. Upon the release of his first project The Synthesis EP, it was clear Composition wasn’t the normal emcee. He branded a sound he calls Dirty Classical Hip Hop, a blend of hip hop and classical. Comp quickly became known for the depth of his context and classical inspired sound. He then released his debut album Garden Statements to critical acclaim almost instantly. Tracks like Walk With God, Lions VS. Jackals, and Currency (featuring Joell Ortiz) landed him on the map and his music began spread throughout various blogs and websites. Since that time he’s been working on his second project, entitled The Dirty Classical, Act 1. Not too much has been revealed about the album yet, the only two things that have been confirmed is production by Kno of Cunninlynguists and a feature from Elzhi.     The native-born Jamaican Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy was born in St. James at September, 27th in 1973.
    At the age of sixteen he came with his brother to Germany to stay with his mother and live a better life. Shortly afterwards young Anthony got down with rapping.
    To do music brings a lot of joy to him. Music is a great pleasure for Sledgy; he feels committed to make music.

    It helped him through his hard time after his entry into Germany which was totally foreign to him at that time.
    After he had rapped a long time for himself to take his mind off his worries, Burnett signed a contract with the label Power Jam Records.
    With conclusion of the treaty his music career begins.

    Under the name of Marvin Burnett he performs onstage (YOU) two times and at Funworld, Bodensee. Furthermore his music appeared on Radio K?ln and Radio 7.
    For two years he has been under contract to Power Jam Records which is known as GUMAK Media e.K. today.

    The Jamaican Burnett is also charitable. He gave many benefit performances, among others at K?lner Zoo, in a retirement home and not least at town hall in Cologne- Kalk.
