BIOGRAPHY Julien Damotte was born in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 1979. He starts playing the guitar at the age of 12, first as a self-taught learner, then taking lessons in his local music school. He has played in many different bands, with styles ranging from Blues to 70’s Rock, from Pop to Metal. Julien has also taken lessons with Stéphan Forté (ADAGIO), attended Mattias Eklundh’s (FREAK KITCHEN) Freak Guitar Camp two years in a row, during which he also got lessons from BUMBLEFOOT (Guns N Roses). The latter invited him on stage in 2004 for a jam session. So did Christophe Godin in 2007. In 2003, Julien decides to take a step further and records his first instrumental demo « Deep Inside ». Thereby starts a collaboration with Nach (AWACKS) on keyboards and BUZZ (TUBULAR BRAIN) who teaches Julien the basics of home recording. Since 2007, Julien has been playing lead guitar in the French Hardcore Progressive Metal band MADONAGUN. Their first E.P. « Resurrect on the Razor Edge » was released in January 2010. TRAPPED The TRAPPED adventure starts in 2004 when Julien tries to compose his first vocal song « Dying ». With this new experience, he finally finds an opportunity to express his feelings, his doubts and his fears on his future, and decides to write a concept album on death (« Death »), illness (« The Inner Struggle »), introspection (« What You’ve Been Through »), violence (« The Voice within your Soul ») but also love (« Eternal Love »). These personal yet universal issues are part of the Human tragedy and make TRAPPED an intimate album in which everyone can recognize themselves. TRAPPED is a story of artistic and human encounters, but also a testimony each friend and guest has helped to shape.

MADONAGUN [On French Metal Compilation] | Clips vidéo MySpace Who the hell am I? I was born on June 13th 1979 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. I started playing the guitar in 1991. I've taken lessons with Gérard Fayet, Marcel Coenen, Mattias IA Eklundh and Bumblefoot at the Freak Guitar Camp (two years in a row) and I've taken several private lessons with Stephan Forté (Adagio). I've played and sung in several bands (DEVILSPOON, EXPRIM, ZE FROGGIEZ) and several styles of music (metal, hard rock, blues, rock, variétés, etc...). I'm currently playing the guitar for MadOnAGun. Our first E.P. will be out in 2009. For live performances check out the tour dates. I've released my first solo album "DEEP INSIDE" in 2003. It's an instrumental self-produced cd and it's still available through my website. Since then, I've been working very hard on a "real" progressive metal vocal album. This new album is named TRAPPED. It is finally mixed and mastered. Stay Tuned for a release date in 2009!!!
