        I saw the performance in my hometown in Washington State.  Chris's talent of course was amazing, but so was his sense of humor and what really impressed me with Chris, was how he really encouraged the young musicians on the audience who were there to entertain before the show started.

        Dear Chris,

        I missed your performance on the Today Show in April, but I did get to see you live (for the first time) in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday, May 24th, 2009.  Chris, your music moves me.  It moves me to tears, epecially in person.  Your dedication to the trumpet and to your music is astounding to me.  I have all your cd's and I listen to them constantly.  I took the newest cd (Live in Boston) with me Sunday thinking I may just have a chance to get your autograph.  I had no idea that I would and I got to meet you (although briefly because it looked like rain at any moment and I was 1 of 100's waiting in line) and I got to have my photograph taken with you (I looked absolutely terrible!!!  Eeks! ), but I will cherish the photograph and the experience of hearing and seeing you play live forever.

        I know you must hear it all the time, but I have to tell you that your music is beautiful.  It is beyond words.  The trumpet is my favorite instrument.  I love how you can play classics, modern, and everything in between and make it beautiful.  I admire you as an artist and as a person.
