    Jaaja's core is a creative japanese duo/couple made of Kumino and Yuiichi... .. They like to try various forms of expression like painting, writing, drawing. They also make animation movies, masks, dolls, brooches and diverse original handcraft... .. .. But their main mode of expression is probably music! When combined with their friends sharing the same interest in handcrafting and music they become the "Jaaja band"... The composition of the group has changed over years but its spirit remains the same. ..While their music is inspired by eastern Europe folklore and child's songs, the simple but poetic lyrics are sung in Japanese which makes it difficult to label them with anything else more precise than "world music"... They compose, record, illustrate, produce and release their music independently. Within the last four years three CDs have been released this way and more are to come... .. When playing live they are wearing masks and costumes they are making themselves, adding a entertaining visual touch to the show. To this day the regular team is composed of Yuiichi the guitarist and leader, Kayoko at accordion, Tae at trumpet and Kumino at wood-bass and other diverse instruments. Originally from Nagoya, they tour regularly trough Japan. In 2009 they went to europe and toured for 6 months traveling through 15 countries by hitchhiking, enjoying meeting people and playing either in streets, bars, live houses and wherever they had the chance to...
