Bio:

Previous to his hard and rhythmic drumming on the Biscaya debut album ”Biscaya” in 1983, Birger had been playing with several different bands in different genres. In 1984 Biscaya released what would prove to be their last effort on record: an EP entitled ”Biscaya On 45”. But, as they say, quality never dies. In 1996 both Biscaya records were assembled by BMG on one cd for the Japanese market, in the ”The Eternal Masterworks 70s to 80s” series.

After the release of ” Biscaya On 45” Birger grew weary of Biscaya and left the band. When a planned new project that would include – among others – Michael Moon (King Diamond, Madison) and Pete Sandberg (Alien) never came about, Birger instead joined the ranks of Kalmar-based blues outfit Bo Wilson Band. He remained with the band for 9 months and toured extensively in Sweden and Denmark.

That accomplished, he appeared in studios, on TV and on stage, playing covers as well as original material. He has also had a number of drum students through the years. From 1996 he has occasionally kept the rhythm for Mountain Dew – a band playing traditional and modern Irish music.

In April 2000 Birger found himself in legendary Swedish metal outfit Destiny.
