BANDA DO SOL

BANDA DO SOL is a legendary Brazilian progressive rock band formed back in the 80ths. The self-titled first album was released in 1984 in vinyl and its considered a "cult" work nowadays.

After a hiatus, the group got back to the stages and studios and consolidated the band reunion with the release of the new album "Tempo".

"Tempo" brings unreleased compositions written during all the phases of the band. The album was mixed in California/USA by Billy Sherwood. Also known for being YES guitarist, Billy is responsible for an extensive discography as producer, including albums from bands like Motörhead, Toto, Ratt, Paul Rodgers and YES. Besides Billy's signature on the mixing, "Tempo" was mastered in USA by the legendary sound engineer Joe Gastwirt (Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, Ramones, Grateful Dead, etc).

Tempo's release-show was a big event. In August of 2010, happened in Sorocaba/Brazil the "Concerto Rock Sinfônico", an event with BANDA DO SOL, Sorocaba's Symphonic Orchestra and Billy Sherwood. The show was divided in two parts. On the first one, BANDA DO SOL, accompanied by Sorocaba's Symphonic Orchestra (Fundec), under the baton of conductor Eduardo Ostergren, presented songs of "Tempo" with classical/symphonic arrangements. On the second part, Billy Sherwood joined BANDA DO SOL and Orchestra for a very special set full of classics by YES, TOTO, YOSO, CIRCA and CONSPIRACY. The event was a huge success. More than 7 thousand people attended to the show.
