Biography

One of the hottest new voices to emerge in recent years, Alex Mills' biography reads like a roadmap to success. From the age of 18 she has had guest vocal slots with major acts as diverse as Tricky, Roll Deep, Masters at Work and Basement Jaxx. Recent collaborations with the likes of Tinchy Stryder and Wretch 32 have cemented her reputation as a unique and diverse talent. Performances for Later with Jools Holland, Ronnie Scotts and extensive international touring as far afield as Beijing and Rome can only further this.

Alex's solo material blends observational sometimes satirical but always honest lyrics over soulful, breezy influenced pop with flashes of ska, blues and africanism as she aims to push the boundaries of contemporary music.

2011 has seen Alex in back to back writing sessions with a whole host of producers. Her ability to write original and memorable top line melodies has already made her in demand as a songwriter. Currently recording her debut album with producers such as Andy Chatterly, Alex Mills is undoubtedly a name we'll be hearing a lot more of in the near future.
